Flute
Flute Private Lessons - RCM & School Band Preparation
Our flute program provides structured, high-quality professional training from complete beginners to advanced students, aligned with Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) standards.
The program is ideal for children, teens, and adults. It suits individuals who want to pursue the flute for personal enrichment and enjoyment as amateur.
- Proper posture, arm, and finger position for achieving a good balance of the flute in hands.
- Breath support and its control for expressive long phrasing and good intonation.
- Exercises for developing strength and flexibility of embouchure muscles. Understanding of a flute’s blowing angle for a secure, resonant, and well projected sound.
- Scales for mastering finger technique, articulation, and agility for fast and accurate playing.
- Etudes and level-appropriate repertoire in accordance with the RCM curriculum’s requirement and above.
- Ear training and regular sight reading to develop a "musical ear" (pitch and rhythm recognition) alongside with the ability to fluently read complex notation which supports musicianship in ensemble, band and orchestra performances.
- Understanding the “grammar” of music, the fundamental elements like form, rhythm & harmony to accelerate the learning process.
- Full preparation for RCM flute examinations.

Music Theory Lessons — RCM Exam Preparation (Levels 1–8)
Our music theory program provides focused preparation for Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Theory Exams, Levels 1–8, supporting strong results in both theory and practical studies. Lessons are offered in private or small-group formats, with instruction tailored to each student’s RCM level.
Following the RCM Theory Syllabus, students develop:
- Music reading and notation
- Rhythm, intervals, and key signatures
- Harmony, analysis, and basic counterpoint
- Music history and stylistic understanding
Our experienced teachers prepare students to meet the theory requirements for higher-level RCM practical certificates, as well as entry into college and university music programs. Strong theory skills also support long-term success as performers, composers, songwriters, and educators.
